C.A.T.S. Program Mission
The C.A.T.S. Program stands for Commitment to an Athlete's Total Success. The mission of C.A.T.S. is to reach each student-athlete based on his or her individual needs and to assist that student-athlete in developing the academic, personal, and life skills needed over time to lead a healthy, productive, and positive lifestyle. The focus is to bring life-long and lasting growth in the individual.
CATS Academics supports The University of Arizona's mission of enhancing scholarly achievement of undergraduate students by:
- Striving for excellence regarding the academic, athletic and personal performance of its student-athletes.
- Providing exemplary leadership and necessary services to support, manage, and lead its student-athletes.
- Promoting the academic growth and individual development of student-athletes in preparation for successful careers and personal fulfillment after college.
The Cedric Dempsey C.A.T.S. Student-Athlete Support Services
In response to the department's adopted C.A.T.S. philosophical mission, the student-athlete support services units have collectively assembled to provide a comprehensive systematic approach to the academic, physical, and personal development of the student-athlete.

Cedric Dempsey C.A.T.S. Student-Athlete Services is comprised of four areas: C.A.T.S. Academics, C.A.T.S. Life Skills, C.A.T.S. Strength and Conditioning, and C.A.T.S. Medical Services. Each unit provides services within the C.A.T.S. philosophical framework to enhance and encourage the academic and personal growth of the student-athlete. The Directors from each area form the C.A.T.S. Director's Committee that meets regularly to review the collective needs of student-athletes and seeks to identify early warning signs of any individual student-athlete who may be at risk.
